Fresh violence in curfew-bound Bareilly, 20 shops torched Bareilly: Nearly 20 shops were on Saturday torched by mobs in old area of communal strife-hit Bareilly despite curfew being clamped in most of the city even as authorities rushed additional forces and a helicopter to rein in the spiralling violence.

Closure of all the educational institutes has been ordered and government has provided a helicopter to police for aerial monitoring in the trouble-hit areas, official sources said, adding curfew will not be relaxed till the situation normalises.

Defying curfew, members of a community torched around 20 shops in Qutubkhana sabzi mandi, one of the oldest markets in the city, this afternoon, police said, adding fire tenders were rushed to the sites.

Curfew has been clamped in five of the six police stations areas in the city.

"After large scale violence in which nearly 20 people, including an Superintendent of Police and some other policemen were injured, curfew has been extended in Subhsh Nagar police area. The situation is tense but under control," sources said.

Heavy force has been deployed across the city to avert further trouble.

"Fresh re-enforcement is being done in the trouble-hit areas of the city to control the situation," the sources said.

Nine officers including PAC commandant Jyoti Narain, four additional SPs and 4 DySPs had already airdashed to Bareilly.

Protesting against the release of cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, arrested earlier on charges of inciting mob which led to communal clashes early this month, members of a community indulged in arson and brick batting in Sanjay Nagar and Subhash Nagar localties yesterday.

The rampaging mob defied curfew in four police station areas including Prem Nagar, Qila, Baradari and Kotwali.

In a bid to control the protesters, police used tear gas shells and fired rubber bullets.

When Varun said something NSA was invoked and he was put behind the bars. This was when no one from Hindu community got invoked to do any harm to any Muslim community.
Now when there is ample proof of the Muslim cleric to invoke people, in the name of Allah / Quran/ Mohd.(PBUH) to kill innocent men women and children, burn properties, this Mayavati govt has freed because of VOTE BANK politics.
Never this community will live in peace if they can not take care of these inhuman Clerics and Ulemas who, atleast to the others, portray Islam as something conveying hatred, terror and bloodshed.

Its unfortunate that people sitting far away from the city, are making their judgments based on what the media is presenting, we all know HOW MUCH OUR COUNTRY`S MEDIA IS BIASED, they are governed by the corporate world and present only what is favorable for them, or supports a party that makes financial policies in favour of these corporate giants.... also the strong communal forces influence the media... why don`t you look up at all sorts of media like those of communists and also the news of muslim media,... then u may get the real picture...

By rising above the narrow political mud-slinging as a votebank politics, it is time that all political parties should join hands to curb this nonsensical communl orgy raging in Bareilly, cuasing loss of life and property. The state government should come down heavily on the trouble makers, irrspective of their community, caste and religion. After all, it is the UP state goverment responsibility to maintain law and order in the state.

These types of incidents are pushing our country to backward. It does not matter how many new officers are deployed or how many are transfered, the main thing is political failure behind such incidents. Our leaders have to be changed to make this country Golden-Bird.

Media is NOT presenting the true face of violence in bareilly... firstly they called the change of route of baravafaat procession the cause however the facts go against it. I with other members of PEACE COMMITTEE FRO PEOPLES has visited the area and recorded the statements of the local residents, (i`m not here to leak the report) but it is evident that the sequence was quite preplanned by inciting the already gathered mob. another thing is that the violence on 12th march was not against the release of Maulana Taukir but against the BAN on RAMBARAAT to be held on 12th... which was presented by media as against the release of the cleric.

Anyone can see that this the ravage caused by this Muslim community led by Muslim clerics. This community is a burden on any nation. Even without caring to know the truth, in the name of religion, they can kill innocent people (men, women and children), and burn properties. I request media to visit Barielly or for that matter any place hit by communal riot and show the truth. Enough of this this inhuman and savage community.
