The incident occurred on yesterday when Sarji got caught in the current while swimming.

Surf Live Save Goa (SLSG) guards, an agency which has been contracted with the beach management in the state, went to the rescue and pulled out the Russian tourist after struggle for almost ten minutes.

"The tourist was struggling to get back to shore at 400 metres away from the shore. The lifeguards went to his rescue with jet-ski boat and brought him to the shore," a SLSG spokesman told.
