Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court on Monday stayed investigation into the alleged disrespect to the national flag during an IPL match in 2007, in which cricket administrator Lalit Modi is one of the accused.

The order was passed by Justice Karni Singh Rathore while modifying the interim order passed by a local court which had pulled up police for slackness in the investigation.

It was hearing a petition filed by Modi challenging the orders of the city trial court to register an FIR and investigate the matter.

Complainant Kamlesh Sharma had alleged that liquor was served in the VIP lounge of the SMS stadium and the tricolour was used as a table cover where wine was served to Pakistani visitors during an India-Pakistan match at the behest of Modi.
