Jammu: Union minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah urged the Hurriyat Conference to participate in dialogue process to find a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem.

"Hurriyat should take part in the dialogue process in finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue. Time has come that all the parties should come forward and contribute their bit in solving this," Dr Abdullah said in Kishtwar, 235-kms from here.

He said that much bloodshed has been witnessed by the people of the state and everybody should shed-off their prejudices and work for a "lasting and amicable solution" so that everlasting peace and prosperity returns to state.

Terming Indo-Pak friendship vital for the people of the sub-continent and especially to the people of the state, Abdullah appealed to leaders of both the nations to resume the composite dialogue.
