Bhopal: Income Tax department on Thursday
conducted simultaneous raids at 13 places in Madhya Pradesh
including the residences of some IAS officers and recovered
over Rs two crore in cash with the counting of currency still
going on, IT sources said.
The exact amount of evasion will be known after the
raids are completed and scrutiny of documents, sources said.
The IT department simultaneously raided 13 places
in Madhya Pradesh including at the residence of two senior
IAS officers -- Arvind Joshi and his wife Tinu Joshi --
both Principal Secretary ranked officers and also at the
residence of retired IAS officer M A Khan.
Besides, the raids were also conducted at the
residence of two executive engineers.
The raids were also conducted in Chattisgarh at the
residence of IAS officer B L Agrawal and six other places in
the state.
The department moved against them on the basis of
documents found during a similar exercise earlier.
