Ludhiana City Centre scam case adjourned

Ludhiana: The hearing in the multi-crore Ludhiana City Centre (LCC) scam case, in which former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh and his son are among the accused, was adjourned to March 27 by a local court on Saturday.

Session Judge S P Bangarh posted the hearing for next month after special public prosecutor Mitter Sein Goyal concluded his arguments on framing of charges against all the 36 accused including Amarinder Singh, his son Ranninder Singh, son-in-law Raminder Singh alias Richhi and former local bodies minister Jagjit Singh.

In his arguments, Goyal told the court about the alleged role of the Superintending Engineer Ludhiana Improvement Trust, Manmohan Singh, Executive Officer Dewan Chand Garg, G K Gambhir Managing Director Todays Home Pvt Ltd. and others in the scam.

Amarinder, Ranninder Singh alias Tikku and Jagjit Singh were not present in the court today. Amarinder Singh and Jagjit Singh had to be present in a court in Mohali for hearing in another case.

The court had given exemption to all three from appearance today.

The court today also permitted Sanjay Talwar, another accused in the case, to go abroad for seven days.
