Hyderabad: A state minister on Wednesday asked Chief
Minister K Rosaiah to prevail upon Vijayawada MP Lagadapati
Rajagopal not to attend a meeting of the Political Joint
Action Committee fighting for a unified Andhra Pradesh.
"Normalcy is gradually returning in Telangana region but
if Rajagopal makes any provocative statement at the JAC meet,
it could trigger fresh unrest here," Information Technology
Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, told the CM.
Reddy said possible escalation of violence in Telangana
could become counter-productive to the efforts of Srikrishna
Committee appointed by the Centre.
Reddy told reporters that Rosaiah had asked senior
Congress MLA J C Diwakar Reddy to talk to the Vijayawada MP
and convey the concern of the Telangana MLAs.
The IT Minister said ministers from Telangana would write
a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi against Rajagopal
seeking her to refrain him from taking up tours that could
foment trouble.
Reddy warned Telangana Political Joint Action Committee
convenor Kodandaram against making provocative statements.
"Don’t behave like Hitler. Who are you to dictate terms
to ministers," he said.
Reddy asserted that they were always part of the
"government" and not the Political JAC.
