Mohali (Punjab): A special court here on Monday examined three witnesses in disproportionate assets case involving Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir, who were granted exemption from personal appearance for the day.

The father-son duo had sought exemption from personnel appearance which was granted by the court. Surinder Kaur Badal, Parkash's wife, had already been granted permanent exemption from personal appearance. A case was registered against them by Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) in Mohali on June 24, 2003.

After the examination of the two witnesses, Special Judge J S Klar posted the matter for October 6.
