Lucknow: Attacking the Congress for the "poor
state of affairs" of minorities in the country, SP chief
Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday said despite setting up 13 panels to
look into their problems, it "failed" to implement their
recommendations.
"Congress which has ruled the country for the maximum
period set up 13 committees on issues related to minorities
but never implemented their recommendations," he said while
addressing party workers here.
"Even the Sachar Committee has accepted the condition of
the minorities was worse than even the scheduled castes,"
Yadav said and claimed that only his party has been earnestly
working for their welfare.
He asked party workers to start preparations for the 2012
assembly elections.
"Problems related to unemployed, farmers and deprived
sections should be raised forcefully and they should also be
apprised of party policies," he said.
On inflation, Yadav alleged that both the Centre and
state governments are passing the buck on each other and the
state has adopted a "vindictive attitude" towards his party
ever since it had successfully raised the issue in January.
In an apparent reference to the Amar Singh episode, the
SP leader also warned the partymen against infighting saying
"groupism would not be tolerated in the party at any level".
