Rameswaram: The Tamil Nadu DGP K P Jain Tuesday said there was need to strengthen security arrangements in coastal areas in the state as threats persisted 'in various
forms', despite an end to the war between LTTE and Sri Lankan army.
He was speaking to reporters after visiting coastal areas in and around this island and inspecting security arrangements.
The DGP also inspected a new patrol vessel of the Coastal security group, built at a cost of Rs two crore.
