Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with trying to create a divide among the scheduled castes in the name of creating a Mahadalit Commission and Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) would fight the issue, LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan said on Friday.

LJP will resist the government move 'from the road to Parliament' and the party members along with RJD members would raise the issue forcefully in Lok Sabha, he said.

LJP would also organise a dalit unity rally on December 17 at the Gandhi Maidan here to protest the government's move and dalits from across the state would march to Bihar assembly demanding their constitutional rights..

There is no mention of Mahadalits in the Constitution and there is no Mahadalit Commission, he said adding unlike at the national level the Bihar government had not constituted any commission for scheduled castes.

Paswan claimed that the NDA government in the state included 'ravidas' in the Mahadalits list after he had intensified the agitation.

''Only the dussadhs, the caste which I belong to has been kept out of the purview of the mahadalits ... It shows Kumar's animosity towards me.''
