Hyderabad: Parliamentarians from coastal
Andhra and Rayalaseema regions should quit their posts to
mount pressure on the Centre to reverse its decision on the
Telangana issue, Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi said on Sunday.
"Yes, they should resign from their posts to mount
pressure on the Centre," he told reporters in Vijayawada.
Replying to a query, he said he would not mind going
to Delhi to meet top leaders as part of efforts to pile up
pressure on the Centre to reverse its decision on Telangana.
Chiranjeevi, who is campaigning for a united Andhra
Pradesh, wanted to express solidarity with lawyers and
students in Vijayawada and Guntur who are holding relay hunger
strike.
He said people from other parts of the state had a
substantial contribution in the development of Hyderabad and
it is not justified to treat those from non-Telangana region
as outsiders. Hyderabad is in Telangana region.
The movement for united Andhra Pradesh originated from
the hearts of the people, he said.
Chiranjeevi also visited Acharya Nagarjuna University
in Guntur and praised the fasting students for the cause.
