Jaipur: As part of the drive to inject young talent into the party, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday embarked on a two-day tour of Rajasthan urging youths to join politics.

On day one of his visit, the young leader addressed the youths, including students, held inter-active sessions with them and exhorted them to play a vital role in development of the country.

Addressing around 3,500 youngsters in Kota, he asked them to embrace politics to play a meaningful role in progress of the country, party sources said.

At the inter-active session, lasting over 40 minutes, the youths fielded a wide range of questions to him ranging from his marriage to e-voting to setting up of an IIT in Kota.

The 39-year-old scion of the Gandhi family shied while replying whether his bride would be an Indian or a foreigner.

On setting up of an IIT in Kota, he referred the question to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who said the matter was under consideration.

On e-voting, the young Congress gun said he would take up the issue with the leaders in New Delhi.

Rahul also interacted with youth Congress workers and tribals in Sawai Madhopur and Udaipur districts, the sources said.
