Varanasi: One person was arrested today and
heroin worth Rs one crore in international market recovered
from him in Mughalsarai area in Chandauli district, 25 kms
from here, police said.
The Chandauli police arrested Rajnarain RajBhar, resident
of Bhurkhura in Ghazipur district, with one kg high quality
heroin, ADGP (law and order) Brij Lal said.
The value of the heroin has been estimated at about one
crore rupees in international market.
A police team chased and caught Rajnarain when he tried
to escape from the Chandasi area where routine police checking
was going on, he said.
The arrested smuggler told police during interrogation
that he had been sent by one Munna Singh of Nandganj in
Ghazipur to carry the consignment to Delhi, he said.
Police is interrogating the smuggler to know the entire
network, Lal said, adding a case has been registered under the
NDPS Act.
