Bhubaneswar: Susanta Rout, an ailing man from Orissa's tribal-dominated Kalahandi district, was the instant beneficiary of a web-based grievance redressal and monitoring system launched by the state government on Saturday.

Rout, suffering from serious ailments including kidney failure, came online seeking assistance from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who inaugurated the e-Abhijog facility, for his treatment.

The Kalahandi district collector forwarded Rout's application online to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. An amount of Rs 30,000 was sanctioned for his treatment.

Another beneficiary was 55-year old Basanta Maharana, a woman from Gobindpur area in Cuttack district.

Frustrated at her failure to convince district level officials the need for construction of a 1100 metre road in her village, she apprised the chief minister about the same.

Her grievance was immediately addressed, a senior official present at the launching ceremony, said.

"The e-Abhijog system has a variety of features to help people. A citizen can now forward any grievance online from anywhere in the world at any time," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said after inaugurating the facility.

The system facilitates online transfer of grievance to concerned departments, Patnaik said, adding that senior officers can monitor the process on a real time basis for speedy redressal.

Besides making one's grievance reach the government, the system also facilitates its users to monitor progress made on his/her complaints, chief secretary Tarunkanti Mishra said.

The new system was implemented by Orissa state branch of the NIC.

Happy new year 2011.In the year 2010 how many people have been benefited from Chief Minister`s grievence cell,Odissa is a question mark. Exemplary one or two as shown above is not sufficient. It is good luck of petitioner. It will be better if you kindly mention the accurate figure of greivence cells sorted out from total nos. of grivences received in 2010(1/10 to 12/10).Remote illiterate people /educated people of township all , who have applied through CM`s grivence cell both in off line and on line-please prepare a list and sortout there of , only can tell the success or failure story of this grievence cell.
