Bhubaneswar: Worried over attack on tourists visiting Orissa, the state government on Thursday asked the district administration of Jajpur to submit a report on the alleged loot of a couple from Karnataka near Lalitgiri, a Buddhist site.

"We have asked the collector of Jajpur to submit a report on the alleged loot incident," Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra told reporters.

A case has been registered at Balichandrapur police station on the basis of complaint by Bangalore residents Satish Chawla and his wife that they were robbed of cash, ornament and even ATM cards by miscreants at a hotel near Lilitgiri yesterday, the minister said.

Mishra asked the Chief Secretary to review the security arrangement near important tourist destinations in the state.
