Hyderabad: Ousted DGP of Andhra Pradesh,
S S P Yadav, today challenged the appointment of R R Girish
Kumar as his successor.
He filed a petition with the Central Administrative
Tribunal (CAT) demanding that Girish Kumar's appointment be
revoked and he be reinstated as the DGP.
Yadav, who has been appointed as Vice-Chairman and
Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport
Corporation (APSRTC) in a post which is normally held by IG or
Additional DGP rank officer, contended that the State
government superceded at least four senior IPS officers while
appointing Girish Kumar as the DGP.
Hence, he sought removal of Kumar and demanded that he be
reinstated as DGP.
