Kolkata: With ally Trinamool Congress
firmly opposed to a nuclear power plant in East Midnapore
district of West Bengal, the Congress has asked Union Finance
Minister Pranab Mukherjee to send a team of experts to study
environmental aspects of the project.
"I have in a letter to Mukherjee urged him to send an
expert team from the Centre to ascertain the likely impact of
the pollution from nuclear waste," state PCC working president

He said the team could also talk to political parties
in the district and the local people.
