Price rise: Cong says Modi has ‘lost it’ Zeenews Bureau

Ahmedabad: Reacting to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s diatribe against Sonia Gandhi over price rise, the Congress party on Friday said the remarks against its president were ‘preposterous’.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters he could not dignify the remarks of Modi by reacting to them.

"He has lost his mind. From an uncivilised person, you can only expect such a presposterous rhetoric," he added.

Modi on Thursday had a dig at Gandhi on price rise saying he would now write a letter in Italian to draw Centre's attention towards the issue.

"I have written number of letters to Central Government on the issue of price rise. I have written letters in the language they can understand urging them to take steps to do something about the rising prices of food items," Modi said.

"But, I think that they have no empathy for the poor people and it seems that they are not willing to take steps to control rising prices," he said, adding, "Now, I need to write a letter in Italian."

Modi was speaking at a Garib Kalyan Mela in Patan district.

"They (Centre) had organised a meeting on the issue of price rise. But have now postponed it saying that they have some other work. I don't understand what work is more important than addressing the issue of price rise," Modi said.

Garib Kalyan Mela is brainchild of Modi to provide direct benefit of schemes meant for poor without involving middlemen.

"Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had said that if Central government release one rupee for poor, only 10 paise reaches them. By organising such melas I have tried to solve this problem," Modi said.

Shame on congress-chor and chatur. All types of words have been used but no response. Modi is 100 per cent correct as to what language congress understands. Even with ` lost it` congress has not responded to the main point instead diverted with vengeance and become offensive.Congress should feel sorry for its deaf response on the main subject.

Impotent govt can`t control price control. Most Powerful Black marketers with the help of rulling party and corrupted leaders have captured the entire markets. They should be identified and the President would please to honour them `hang till to death` immediately.

As you are aware that ``NavNirman Andolan`` was started on 1973 against food prise rise and Corruption from Ahmedabad Gujarat. The result in end was Shrimati Indira Gandhi shacked from P.M. Now, we show history repeat in year 2010.Gujarat will only give answer to Corrupted Central Government.

Wonder what people would have thought when voting Congress to power ! There was a turn around promised in 90 days & its prices SHOOTING up ... every Indian is bothered with the unrelenting price rice of food items. People should learn a lesson & think twice before bringing such a party to power.

It is not modi who is losing it but congress. The soaring prices are making the common man wonder whether at all there is a government in office.
