Gwalior: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that he had come to Madhya Pradesh to spread the base of Youth Congress and the students wing NSUI in the BJP-ruled state.

Interacting with students from the Laxmibai National Physical Education University and Jiwaji University at the Tagore hall here, Rahul said, because of his efforts lot of youths have joined the Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India had grown up manifold in states like Punjab, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

He later also answered 10 questions from the students one of whom wanted to know when the bill providing for reservations for women in Parliament and state Assemblies would be passed.

The Congress general secretary said that right now a coalition government was at the Centre and talks were on with various allies on the women's bill.

"I am hopeful that a consensus on the bill would be arrived at soon," Rahul said.

When a girl student suggested that physical education should also be made a subject for All India competitive examinations, he said the suggestion was worth looking into.
