Railways slashes fares of Buddhist Circuit Special Train

New Delhi: Railways have slashed the ticket rates of the Buddhist Circuit Special Train by more than half under a special discount scheme to woo more travellers.

Under the discount scheme, the fares would be Rs 14,999 per person in 3AC and Rs 19,999 per person in 2AC as against the normal price of Rs 34,650 for 3AC and Rs 41,650 for 2AC respectively, said an IRCTC release, which operates the train.

It said special fare is available only for the February 13 to February 20 trip. The train has also won the National Tourism Award.

This comprehensive tour package includes hotel accommodation, road transportation, all meals, sight seeing, entrance fee, tour guide service, travel insurance, on-board security among others, it said.

It will cover the destinations of Bodhgaya, Nalanda, Rajgir, Sarnath, Varanasi, Kushinagar, Lumbini, Sravasti and Agra.
