Jaipur: Rajasthan Food and Civil Supply
Minister, Babu Lal Nagar, on Sunday directed officials to make
arrangements for effective implementation of the 'Aata-Daal
scheme' that was launched last week to make pulses and wheat
available on cheaper rates to public.
"Naagar today directed the officials to ensure quality
and proper weight of the wheat and pulses, and action with
immediate effect against complaints in this regard," according
to an official here.
"The minister also instructed Principal Secretary of the
department to hold meetings at divisional headquarters level
with representatives of mills which are providing wheat and
pulses," he said.
The scheme was launched on October 4 last in seven
divisional headquarters -- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner,
Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Kota -- under which ration card
holders are being provided 10 kg wheat and 4 kg per month at
861 dairy booths and 42 cooperative consumer centers.
However, complaints have started pouring in regarding
quality and weight, official sources added.
