New Delhi: The CPI(M) on Wednesday alleged that
Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee's interest lies in somewhere
else than her portfolio and said Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh should think whether the Cabinet needs her.
"The Minister's interest is not in the ministry. Her
interest is more somewhere else. The Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh and the government should answer why it is so," CPI(M)
Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury said here.
"For the sake of the country, the Prime Minister and the
cabinet will have to think whether they want a minister who is
giving time to the ministry or someone who is interested in
something else," he said.
His comments came in the backdrop of the accident
involving two trains in Mathura killing over 20 people.
