Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah got into a fit of rage in the state Assembly on Thursday after an opposition MLA sought to refer to an old inquiry report and said he would quit politics if he was found involved in any murky affair.

Even before opposition TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy could finish his sentence, an angry Rosaiah was on his feet to counter him.

Though Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy tried to explain that the issue being raised by the MLA related to yesterday’s proceedings, Rosaiah said, "I am open for an inquiry by Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu. I will stand before him as an accused. If my involvement in any murky affair is proved, I will not only quit the Chief Minister’s post but also leave politics permanently.”

Not stopping at that, Rosaiah also challenged Revanth Reddy to face an inquiry by a state minister into the allegations against him. There are certain allegations against you. I will ask one of my ministers to conduct an inquiry. Come on," the Chief Minister challenged the MLA.

Reacting to this, Revanth Reddy clarified that he did not make any remarks or allegations against the Chief Minister.

"I have only tried to refer to a previous instance where the then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy asked you (Rosaiah) to inquire into the allegations levelled by one minister against the other in the erstwhile Cabinet.
