New Delhi: The Supreme Court Collegium is
understood to be examining complaints against Allahabad High
Court Chief Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad, whose elevation
as a judge of the apex court has been kept on hold.
Highly placed sources said the Collegium has decided to
go into the allegations made against Prasad and some decision
is expected shortly.
The Collegium headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan
had cleared the names of Prasad and Bombay High Court Chief
Justice Swatanter Kumar for appointment as judges of the
Supreme Court.
While Kumar was elevated, the government held back the
proposal of Prasad after petitions containing some charges
were made before the Law Ministry.
