Ahmedabad: With nine more people succumbing
to swine flu the death toll in Gujarat has reached to 225,
while 33 fresh cases of the infectious disease were detected,
health officials said on Wednesday.
According to state health department officials, three
patients, Vikram Zapda (45), Gangaben Parmar (75) and Sweety
Patel (25) died of swine Flu at V S hospital here.
One S K Bhatnagar and Suresh Patel both aged 54,
succumbed to the H1N1 virus in Vadodara civil hospital
yesterday but their death was reported today.
Rajkot and Ahmedabad recorded one swine flu death each
with victims being identified as Jyotsna Mahendrabhai (40),
and Hansa Rani (60), they said, adding that one Sarvottam
Patel (45) from Ahmedabad died on Monday but the death was
reported today.
Death of Sagar Narottam (22) who died at civil hospital
in Rajkot on January 22, was reported today.
Fresh cases of the disease were reported from Ahmedabad,
Palanpur, Surat and Vadodara. So far, 1,188 cases have been
reported by the health authorities in the state, they said.
