Howrah: Trinamool Congress supporters
clashed with CPI(M) men following the discovery of the body of
a 38-year old man, claimed to be a TC activist, on the bank of
Rupanarayan river at Jalpai in Howrah district today.
While the body, having injury marks on its neck was
identified that of Dilip Manna, local TC leadership claimed
Manna belonged to their party.
As the death triggered tension in the area, a clash
ensued between CPI(M) and TC activists in which some were
injured.
The situation was brought under control by a police
contingent led by SDPO.
TC MP Sultan Ahmed and oppisition leader in West
Bengal assembly Partho Chatterjee will visit the area
tomorrow.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
