Muzaffarnagar: Tension prevailed on the
Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border with some locals from the
neighbouring state allegedly damaging crops here, police said
on Saturday.
"The farmers from Mawi village in the district alleged
that they were beaten by the locals from Malhera village in
Haryana and they destroyed their crops yesterday," SDM Sant
Kumar said.
Meanwhile, reports from Baghpat and Gautam-Buddha nagar
also claimed that farmers from Haryana damaged crops and
injured a local in the clash.
He said that they will soon hold a meeting with senior
officials of both the states and sort out the matter.
