Hyderabad: Three persons have been arrested in connection with the collapse of a five-storeyed building at Narayanaguda area here last week that claimed 13 lives, police said on Tuesday.

Narayanaguda Police arrested owners of the building Aleemuddin and Kaleemuddin, along with another person. The trio were produced before a local court this afternoon, an investigating official said.

"The trio were detained last night and were interrogated. Efforts were on to nab the builder, who is still absconding," a police official said.

The trio have been booked for offences under Sections 304A (Causing death by negligence) 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and under Section 288 (Negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings) of IPC.

Thirteen persons, mostly construction workers, including an 18-month-old child were killed, and six others were injured when the five-storey "unauthorised" building adjacent to a private school collapsed on Friday last.
