Rajkot to have swine flu testing laboratory
The city will soon have a
laboratory for testing swine flu samples, Gujarat Health
Minister Jaynarayan Vyas said today.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said Rajkot is a
medical hub for Saurashtra and Kutch regions. A large number
of people from these regions come to the city for treatment
and therefore the government has decided to start a laboratory
with bio-safety grade hospital here, the Minister said.
The laboratory will start functioning within a week,
Vyas said, adding the facility will have experts to conduct
swine flu test.
Currently, samples from here are being sent to
Ahmedabad for H1N1 test, which delays swine flu treatment, he
added.
