New Delhi: Two women, trafficked to the capital from Bangalore, were tonight rescued from a redlight area in central Delhi after a visitor to a brothel informed police about their plight.

On an information received by a visitor, police raided a brothel in G B Road and rescued the women, in their early twenties.

The victims had told the visitor that they were forced into prostitution.

One of the two women, who was working in a call centre in Bangalore, said she met Babu Lal, who allegedly lured her and brought her to Delhi on the pretext of getting a job in a prominent call centre two months ago. Lal allegedly sold her to the brothel and went back.

The other woman (25) is a mother of two children and was allegedly sold by the same person on the pretext of getting a job here. She did not inform her husband and other family members.

Both the women became friends as they hailed from the same locality and one of them told their ordeals to the visitor, a senior police officer said.

The two women told the police that Lal had promised them good jobs but forced them into prostitution.

A case of kidnapping, rape, wrongful confinement and immoral trafficking has been registered against the brothel owner Sharda, who was arrested.

A man hunt is on to nab Lal. The women were taken to Nari Niketan.
