New Delhi: Trinamool Congress has decided to
contest the assembly elections in UP and Bihar.
"We will put up our candidates in UP and Bihar assembly
elections this time," Trinamool MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar
said here today.
Dastidar, who is incharge of these states, said "we will
try to fight the elections in an alliance with like-minded
parties".
We are now strengthening our party organisation in these
two states and our manifesto will remain the same -
development and pro-poor policy, she said.
As part of its organisational drive, Trinamool Congress
appointed Renu Rai as President of the women wing of the party
in Uttar Pradesh.
Dastikar said the party has appointed Mandip Mishra as
its convenor and Rai women wing President in UP.
Assembly elections in Bihar are due later this year and
in UP in 2012.
