Ferozepur: Twelve persons were killed and 34
injured when two buses collided head on near a village on
Ferozpur-Fazilka road on Sunday, police said.
Deputy Commissioner Kamal Yadav, who rushed to the scene
of the accident, said six of the deceased died on the spot
while the rest succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The injured have been admitted to different hospitals at
Faridkot and Ferozepur, he said.
The accident took place when the two private buses coming
from opposite directions rammed into each other near a toll
barrier located close to village Mamu Johia.
Some of those killed in the accident were sitting on the
roof top of the buses.
The driver of one bus died on the spot whereas the one
driving the other was critically injured. Both the buses were
damaged badly.
