Kanpur: Two persons here lost their lives in
separate incidents, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, the first incident took place at
Varun Vihar, while the second incident was reported from
Kalyanpur.
Circle Officer Collectorganj, Surendra Tiwari said,
"Rajendra, a resident of Varun Vihar was allegedly killed by
his son-in-law Sanjay Gupta following heated arguments.
Rajendra's son Jitendra, who tried to pacify them was
seriously injured."
While, Rajendra died on the spot, Jitendra has been
admitted to a hospital, police said adding that Sanjay Gupta
is currently absconding and police is hunting for him.
In the second incident, reported from Kalyanpur, a
landlord was allegedly shot dead by his tenant, when the
former sought to know, as why the latter had not paid rent for
the last six months, police said.
Amarnath, a retired bank employee had let-out a portion
of his house on rent to Rahul Gupta, an advocate. And today,
when Amarnath dragged out some belongings of Gupta, there was
a heated exchange of words between the two.
Later, the tenant returned with his friend and shot dead
the landlord, police said adding that both Gupta and his
friend have fled from the spot.
The dead body of Amarnath was sent for post-mortem and
police is investigating the matter.
