Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Police today said it will approach the court for remand of 11 suspected Naxalites arrested by the Special Task Force.

ADG (law and order) Brij Lal told reporters here that the 11 Naxalites arrested by the STF from Gorakhpur, Allahabad and Kanpur would be taken into police remand and interrogated.

Officials of other states affected by Naxal activities would also come to Uttar Pradesh for interrogating them, the ADG added.

On Saturday, STF had arrested three alleged Naxals in Gorakhpur and Allahabad and eight others were arrested yesterday in Kanpur. Among them are two senior leaders of a banned organisation.
