VHP leader Togadia to visit Kandhamal despite ban

Bhubaneswar: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen Togadia is continuing with his tour to Orissa's volatile Kandhamal district despite the administration banning his entry, a VHP leader said Friday.

"There is no change in our plan," VHP state unit secretary Gouri Prasad Rath told a news agency.

"Togodia and several others will not only reach Kandhamal today (Friday) they will also spend the night in the district," he said.

The district administration fears that Togadia's visit may disturb peace in the region, where at least 38 people were killed over months of communal violence following the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, a Hindu monk, on August 23, 2008.

Police said a notification was issued by the district administration banning the entry of Togadia and three others to Kandhamal.

"We are keeping a watch on the situation. We are on alert," Superintendent of Police S. Praveen Kumar told IANS.

Can anybody prove that Togadia was behind the Kandhamal riots? If no, how can the law enforcers bar him from visiting, only because they think that there will be trouble? Where are all those people who used to say `India belongs to all Indians`? Obviously, in practice, they don`t believe that India belongs to all Indians, since they`re doing the same to Togadia what Raj Thackeray did to the Biharis.

Togadia must be allowed to speak to the victims of that massacre by the christian missionaries or the gundas. He must be allowed to speak to people & he must expose the current situation which certainly is not all well. The government who came to power by tampered voting machines is doing nothing but to appease the chriatian missionaries who`s agenda is to convert as many gullible people as possible & please sonia, chela of pope. one wonders !! why dirty politicians are not killed by these so called maoists who claim themselves as the ultimate judge in the society ....
