Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is
likely to introduce a number of important bills, including pay
hike of MLAs and setting up of technical universities, in the
winter session of the assembly beginning from Monday.
The state cabinet recently gave its nod for 15 to 30 percent hike in the pay of MLAs.
The replacement bills for ordinances issued for setting
up of technical universities and exclusion of posts from the
office of profit are also likely to be tabled during the
four-day session.
Meanwhile, main opposition Congress has announced to
gherao Vidhan Sabha on Monday alleging that the government has
failed on all fronts.
Leader of the opposition Harak Singh Rawat said the law
and order situation in the state had deteriorated and the BJP
government had failed to complete the preparations for Kumbh
