Interestingly, BSP fielded lesser women candidates in the hustings, in comparison to its rival national players.

The Congrees gave maximum 36 tickets to the women candidates, the BJP and SP fielded 30 and 27 women respectively, whereas the BSP gave ticket to only 14 women candidates out of which 10.

Alltogether 351 women candidates contested in the just-held assembly election.

Results show that five women candidates from the BJP, four from SP and one each from RLD and Congress have been elected as MLA.
