Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday stayed arrest of former vice-chancellor of a university and his sons in connection with a girl's complaint, which accused them of threatening her.

The court stayed the arrest of former VC of Chhatrapati Shahuji Majaraj Medical University, KM Singh, and his three sons 'till cogent material was found against them.'

On a petition of Singh to quash the impugned FIR, a division bench of justices Abdul Mateen and Satish Chandra stayed the arrest of Kunwar Kant, Kamal Kant and Krishna Kant also.

Earlier, an FIR was lodged against them for allegedly threatening a girl student enrolled at their Nursing Institute on October 14 at Hazratganj.

Singh claimed that the girl, who lacked in requisite attendance, was exerting pressure on the institute to allow her appear in the examinations.
