Patna: Anand Shankar has been appointed as
Director General of Police (DGP) in Bihar, according to a
notification issued by the state home department late Monday night.
Shankar, 1973 batch IPS officer, would replace incumbent
DN Goutam who is due to retire on July 31.
The state government had last night effected a major
administrative overhaul and appointed Anup Mukherjee, a 1974
batch IAS officer, as Chief Secretary of Bihar.
Mukherjee would replace the incumbent RJM Pillai who
has opted for voluntary retirement service.
State government had transferred several officials of the
rank of commissioner in an exercise aimed to tone the
administration.
