Hyderabad: A high-powered committee set up
by the Civil Aviation Ministry to probe the helicopter crash
that killed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhar
Reddy and four others would arrive here on Wednesday.
A team led by R K Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director
of the Pawan Hans Corporation, which is probing the crash
involving the Bell-430 helicopter, was scheduled to visit
tomorrow, but, postponed its visit by one day, Kurnool
District Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena said over phone.
The five-member high-power committee will visit the crash
site on Rudrakonda hill in the dense Nallamalla forest range
and take up on-site investigations, the Collector said.
"We have made facility for a helipad at Nallakalwal
about 20-km away from the crash site," he said, adding, the
shortest route to reach the spot has been identified.
The officials can travel about 18-km by road, but they
have to trek at least 2 kms to reach the spot on the hilly
terrain, Meena said.
Some more equipments were recovered near the crash site
and the autopsy reports of Reddy and four others would be
handed over to the officials, he said.
