Hyderabad: A high-powered committee set up by the Civil Aviation Ministry to probe the helicopter crash that killed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy and four others would arrive here on Wednesday.

A team led by R K Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director of the Pawan Hans Corporation, which is probing the crash involving the Bell-430 helicopter, was scheduled to visit tomorrow, but, postponed its visit by one day, Kurnool District Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena said over phone.

The five-member high-power committee will visit the crash site on Rudrakonda hill in the dense Nallamalla forest range and take up on-site investigations, the Collector said.

"We have made facility for a helipad at Nallakalwal about 20-km away from the crash site," he said, adding, the shortest route to reach the spot has been identified.

The officials can travel about 18-km by road, but they have to trek at least 2 kms to reach the spot on the hilly terrain, Meena said.

Some more equipments were recovered near the crash site and the autopsy reports of Reddy and four others would be handed over to the officials, he said.
