New Delhi: BJP on Friday attacked the Delhi
Government for threatening to cancel the allotments of the
enterprises which had not commenced operations at the new
plots handed over to them under a re-settlement scheme.
Leader of Opposition in state assembly V K Malhotra
also demanded that the procedure of giving out no-objection
certificate to such enterprises may be simplified.
"While it is understandable that industries in the
non-organised sector should be moved to industrial areas, it
is also necessary to ensure that they were provided the
required help such as enabling quick disbursement of NoCs to
such industries," the BJP leader said in a letter to Chief
Minister Sheila Dikshit.
He pointed out that industries in residential areas
were encouraged to move to areas such as Bawana, Patparganj,
Badli and Jhilmil, but procedural delays and systematic
failures have caused much distress to such alottees.
"The scheme clearly mentions levy of a fine for those
not starting operations within a year but there is no mention
of cancelling their allotment as decided by the government
now," Malhotra said.
Delhi State Industries Development Corporation (DSIDC)
had recently issued show-cause notice to the enterprises who
had not taken charge of their allotted plots under the scheme,
threatening to cancel their right to their allotment.
