Varanasi: A 12-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised and killed in neighbouring Chandauli district, triggering protests by locals who attacked the office of the additional district magistrate.

Two persons were arrested today for their alleged involvement in the crime.

The half naked body of the victim Kishan Jaiswal, son of an advocate, was recovered from a deserted area near his house yesterday.

Police said Kishan left his house to play with friends and didn't return till Tuesday night following which family members reported the matter to police.

Some locals spotted the body with injury marks on the head and other parts of the body in a deserted government quarter behind his house. The body has been sent for post-morterm.

Angry over the murder, shopkeepers in the area downed their shutters and locals barged into the court of additional district magistrate and broke furniture.

They also demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and action against local police officials, who they alleged failed to take timely action.

The situation was brought under control only after police promised action against the concerned police officials.

Heavy police force has been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.

On the basis of the complaint of the brother of the deceased, police arrested two persons Niranjan alias Appu and Nagendra today.
