Muzaffarnagar: A case has been registered against four BSP activists for allegedly abducting a woman gram pradhan and casting vote in her name during the UP legislative council polls in the district on Thursday, police said today.

Police registered the case yesterday after Jaipal Singh, husband of the abducted woman, Pushpa, filed a complaint that they voted in her name during the polls.

Meanwhile, opposition parties have alleged that district authorities failed to conduct free and fair elections.

RLD national general secretary Anuradha Choudhry alleged large-scale rigging and misuse of government machinery during the polls.
