New Delhi: Delhiites on Thursday experienced the coldest day of the November month in the last five years as maximum temperature dropped seven notches below normal.

The Met office said the temperature dipped due to a western disturbance as well as cyclonic rainfall on the south and west coasts.

"Today's maximum temperature was the lowest in the last five years," said a Met official.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 15.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal, while the maximum was recorded at 22.4.

In the morning, a thin layer of fog engulfed the city affecting the traffic flow on most city roads.

The skies remained overcast throughout the day while some areas experienced drizzles.

According to the Met office, the temperature will oscillate between 15 and 24 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
