Ahmedabad: Congress has announced its candidates for four out of the seven Assembly seats in Gujarat where the by-polls are scheduled to be held on September 10.

The Congress announced the name of candidates for the Jasdan, Dhoraji, Kodinar and Sami-Harij Assembly seats late night on Saturday.

The party is likely to declare candidature for the remaining three seats -- Dehgam, Chotila and Danta -- tomorrow, party sources said.

Bhavna Bavalia will be contesting from Jasdan Assembly segment. The seat was vacant after her father Kuvanrji Bavalia won the Lok Sabha election from Rajkot constituency early this year.

Son of Congress MP Vitthal Radadiya, Jayesh, will contest from Dhoraji Assembly seat, which was left vacant after Vitthal Radadiya won Lok Sabha election from Porbander constituency.

Dhirsinh Barad will be contesting from Kodinar, while Dinesh Thakore will fight from Sami-Harij Assembly seat.

Chotila seat was vacant after the death of Congress MLA Popatbhai Jinjariya. According to party sources, Jinjariya's son Manoj Jinjariya is likely to contest from Chotila seat.
