A meeting of SAD Legislature party here under the
chairmanship of Badal have decided that deputy CM Sukhbir, who
also holds the portfolio of Home Affairs, will make a
statement on the floor of the House tomorrow on the issue of
violence in Ludhiana which claimed one life and left several
others injured, party spokesman said.
However, main opposition Congress had written to the
Speaker seeking permission to bring in an adjournment motion
on the issue of "deteriorating" law and order.
Leader of Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, after
chairing the CLP meet here, told reporters that the Badal
government had "miserably" failed on the law and order front.
On violent incidents in Ludhiana, Bhattal alleged, "The
government slept over the issue showing signs of weakness to
handle crisis situation and miserably failed in maintaining
peace on several occasions."
However, Hooda claimed "the government is keeping a close
tab on the situation and monitoring it closely".
The Congress also appealed to the Speaker to extend the
session from its present five sittings.
