CPI-CPI (M) holds joint convention against govt

Jalandhar: The main left parties Communist Party of India and Communists Party of India (Marxist) today organised a joint convention here against the policies of the government.

Party leaders cornered government on the various issues including unemployment, price rise, privatization, hoarding and forward trading of commodities and also suggested effective measures to save the drowning boat of state government.

Charan Singh Virdi, Secretary CPI (M) suggested that government should endeavor to decrease the prices essential commodities, unwanted subsidies to industrialists, discourage speculation.

He suggested that government should improve its methods to measure poverty level and provide essential commodities to poorer at cheapest rates.

Central government should bring Food security Bill for poor and recommendations of Agricultural Commission should be enforced.
