Discussing forming govt without JMM in Jharkhand: JVM (P)

New Delhi: With Shibu Soren sticking to his stand of chief ministership in return of support, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik on Friday said it has discussed with Congress the issue of forming an alliance government without JMM which was resorting to "politics of conditions".

The JVM (P), which has 11 seats, has left the issue of deciding the leader of the alliance government in the state to Congress which it said was the bigger party in the tie-up.

"One thing is clear that JMM wants to do politics of conditions and we are not ready to accept any condition...we held meeting with Congress here in Delhi and discussed the situation. Talks were held about possibilities of forming government without JMM in Jharkhand," Parveen Singh, the general secretary of the party led by Babulal Marandi, told reporters here.

Singh met Congress President Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel, AICC in-charge of Jharkhand K Keshav Rao and Congress leader from Jharkhand and Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay since last night and discussed the issue.

When asked whether it will be acceptable to JVM (P) if Congress decides to name one of its leaders for chief ministership, Singh said, "Naturally, we have an alliance and if Congress announces any of its leaders as CM, we won't have any objection".

However, he maintained that a "tribal CM" will only be suitable for the state given the "present scenario" there. It will not be appropriate to do any new "experiment" in the interest of Jharkhand, Singh said.

Asked the possibility of JVM (P) joining hands with BJP in case its negotiations with Congress fail, Singh categorically dismissed it.

"This is a rumour that spreads again and again. We have always condemned such rumours and said that we will not go with BJP on any condition. We have chosen our path and the way people gave us mandate in the elections, it has been proved that our path is correct and we will achieve our target," he said.

To a question whether his party will accept RJD as its ally in formation of a government, Singh said, "We are not averse to RJD."

PP TALWAR - India
It is a pity that power hungry and an opportunist Shibu Soren of JMM with 18 MLAs in his fold is dictating terms to the congress party who is having 25 MLAs with it. Shibu Soren is demanding CMs post for himnself and Dy CM post for his son. With his shady record as a Minister at the centre, Shibu Soren can not be trusted. Hope the saner elements of Jharkhand legislators will see the reason and come in suppot of the congress party to form a stable coalition government in Jharkhand.
