New Delhi: Aiming to improve its
grievance redressal mechanism, the Delhi Transport Corporation
will next week launch an online system where commuters will be
able to register their complaints.
Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said the
effort is part of initiatives to improve passenger services by
the DTC, which runs the world's largest fleet of CNG vehicles.
Lovely said to encourage performance, the Transport
department has also decided to institute best conductor and
best driver of the year awards.
The department will also award the depots maintaining
highest standard of efficiency and discipline.
The DTC has been modernising its bus fleet to offer
better comfort to commuters and it is expected to have a fleet
of 5,000 low floor swanky buses before commencement of next
year's Commonwealth Games. Already over 1,000 low floor buses
have been inducted into the DTC fleet.
